Town of Fort Macleod

Economic Development Manager

 

I acted as the first point of contact for all things Economic Development, including: business expansion and retention, business investment attraction, town promotion, film liaison, regional collaboration, strategic and tactical planning, land development planning, tourism, event management, communications, public relations, beautification, heritage guardianship, major grant writing, and thinking of new ways to deal with old issues.

Key accomplishments included: 140th Anniversary Celebration and RCMP Musical Ride, film liaison for Fargo S2, Business Licence Bylaw rewrite, developing a Business Incentive Program, initiating the development of a Built Heritage Advisory Board, initiating a GIS Land Sales Project with ORRSC, bringing AXIA fibre optic internet to the town (2016/17), initial negotiations for the TESLA super-charging station, and writing a successful $8.5+million infrastructure grant that will literally change

the face and future of the town of Fort Macleod forever.

University of Lethbridge

Communications Officer - Faculty of Arts & Science

Accountable to the Dean, I was responsible for all internal and external marketing and communications activities in support of over 40 Departments and Programs. This entailed creating and distributing Departmental brochures, the faculty’s annual publication, and all faculty-specific recruitment advertising, both on and off-line, including Social Media aspects.
These activities substantially contributed to record enrollment levels three years running.

I was also responsible for the rebuilding and maintenance of the faculty website, including editing and creating new content, and managing content requests from 40+ departments.

Jayman MasterBUILT | Wen-Di Interiors

Marketing Manager / Coordinator

Reporting to Divisional COO, I managed all internal and external marketing activities for two Interior Design B2C business units in two locations. My role included: the creation of all internal reporting (none existed previously), monthly data and campaign analysis, creating simple loyalty and MGM programmes for existing clients, managing the client database, completely rebuilding one divisional website based on client usability and SEO principles (without an external agency), as well as all aspects of promotion from initial concept, design and copy through to media buying, placement and in-depth post-campaign ROI tracking. 

I also re-wrote and re-packaged all customer-facing post-sales material (60+ pages) to help simplify the interior design selection process, sourcing and managing the import of portfolio packaging from China.

Marketing Manager

As the Global Marketing Director’s right hand, I was responsible for all day-to-day B2B marketing activities across the UK, USA, EMEA and ROW Direct Sales markets as well as providing marketing, product and sales support for a 240+ strong WW Distribution Network. I was responsible for all on and offline acquisition and retention initiatives from initial concept and creative execution, including all copywriting, through to distribution, campaign analysis and future planning.

Key skills and achievements include: strategic and tactical planning, budget management, leadership (4 - 6 direct reports), global advertising and branding, and customer relationship management. This included managing and further developing the company’s Loyalty Scheme, which I expanded from a basic products-for-points programme to the best in the industry with 15+ sponsors, managing all day-to-day aspects as well as promotion and future direction of the scheme in the UK, DE, EU, USA and Canada.

Reporting to the Global MarComs Manager, I managed catalogues and the quarterly magazine, along with web content and all e-marketing activities, including translation into five languages and four currencies.

Additionally, I played a key role within the Marketing Creative Team as Marketing Editor and Copywriter, creating cutting-edge print and digital DM collateral, including SEO friendly meta-data.

Other key areas included: project and product management, internal communications, sales support, creative direction and brand guardianship and assisted with the creation and development of the industry’s first Loyalty Scheme.

Included product and technical training to UK Teams; creation of sales support documentation such as email templates to decrease response time and maintain universal replies to customer queries; EMEA point of contact for Adobe product sales and licensing; and acted as liaison between EMEA/CDN sales teams – all while developing profitable new customer relationships.

This included the implementation of a product specific, offer-based, outbound calling campaign. Generated sales in excess of targets quarter on quarter, with an overall increase of 30% in 2000  ($1.27m up from $895k). Provided customer-focused feedback to business units. Edited training manual.
